Case Study - Burns part 1

by Pat Diamond

My electrolysis client came in for a treatment and she had very serious chemical burns from a perm on her forehead and ear. I don't know the degree of the burn, but I do know that she had gone to the emergency room and was treated there 3 days earlier. When I saw her, her burns looked very red and scaly. I created a blend of 1 oz organic aloe vera gel with 5 drops of lavender angustifolia - Bulgaria and 8 drops helichrysum italicum. I applied it before she left my office and gave her the blend and recommended that she apply it before bed and in the mornings until the burns healed. She called me the following day and reported that her forehead burn was almost completely healed and her ear was much improved. Her ear took 3 days to heal. No scarring either.

Case Study - Burns part 2

by Gary Bourbonais

Lavender does accelerate burn healing.....

Back about a year ago, a friend gave me some lavender.....

Burned myself just back of the knuckles on my right hand.....applied the lavender....pain went away and healing happened in short order...

Now.....have had the same result with lavender on other burns...

Essentially (pun) I covered the burn with the Lavender and waited to see what would happen....so I guess that would be a neat application...

AGORA, The Aromatherapy Global Online Research Archives is a unique non-commercial, website, contributed to by about eighty people world-wide. We are working to promote the serious, intelligent and SAFE use of essential oils for healing the body, mind and spirit. The various pages on this website are hosted in different places, internationally, reflecting the worldwide nature of the interest and participation in aromatherapy. The origin of this project came from a dream of Michel Vanhove, who hosts the official homepage.
I expressed an old dream on the idma aromatherapy mailing list on 16/2/1998: "I dream of a better use of the web possibilities and a cooperation of webpage owners or designers, to make a huge common work on aromatherapy and related subjects. Different people cooperating with the same purpose: making info available and enabling communication. If we would cooperate, one member would make some space on his/her pages for long updated references on books, another person could keep updated a huge link page, sorted by subject and country with clear descriptions, another making images available..."

-Michel Vanhove
